She may been marrying into world’s most formal and well known families but that hasn’t stopped Meghan Markle from having a bit of fun with her soon to be in-laws.
At Christmas she decided to take the chance to have a laugh with the royals and especially with her present for brother in-law to be, William.
As reported in the Daily Star, Meghan gave William a Tam O’Shanter hat, the traditional Scottish hat which has a tartan cap with fake ginger hair poking out of it.
She joined the royals at the Queen’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk over Christmas
A royal source said: “She bought William a Scottish cap with ginger hair.
“It was very funny – he saw the funny side too thankfully.”
It wasn’t just William who received a funny present though, Markle also got something a little different for the Queen.
“Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty.” said the royal source.
“It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy.
“She laughed and said ‘they can keep my dogs company’.”
It sounds like Megan took a chance with her presents but got it right and has been welcomed into the family with open arms.
